An EXPEDIT Buffet?

I'm trying to think out of the box. . . I know people turn the EXPEDIT shelf on it's side all the time, so why couldn't it be used as a buffet?

It holds records (doesn't it?), so it should hold plates? Plus I could get doors for some of the holes for closed storage and leave some of them open. . .

At $70 it's way under budget, but if I were to add doors to each of the holes it would push it up to $230, making it over budget. . .

I could add doors as I save more. . . or I could do a mix and match of open space and doors. . . they even have an insert that would be perfect for wine. . .

I don't know, it's just a thought. . .

I think this is a great idea. And If you just add doors at each end (or a door on top drawer on bottom) you could stay in budget or do a staggered one door on top and one on bottom across for a really cool look. I think the doors for these are way overpriced btw.

I would put doors on the bottom four to give it visual weight. Are you thinking about adding legs for a little more height?

Dane - I have to agree, the doors seem overpriced.

Sparrow - I'm think of maybe four doors on the bottom or in the four center holes. As for height, at 31 inches it's not too bad on its own, but I might do the wheels:
1. more height
2. more industrial looking
3. easier for me to move around on my own
