Okay, so I'm not so good at opening my mail right away, sometimes it sits for days and days before I even sort it, yet alone open it. . . so when I actually opened yesterday's mail this morning it was completely out of character for me, but I am totally glad I did. . . I got my yearly mortgage statement and it came with a escrow refund check for over payment. . . a really really nice check. . . so nice, in fact, that I think there must be some sort of mistake - like a major one, like maybe they didn't pay my taxes or insurance or something. . .
So instead of being happy with my new found money, I'm worried that someone screwed up somewhere, majorly. . . All I know is that check is not going anywhere near my account until after I've had a chat with my mortgage company.
Now if all things work out and there wasn't a mistake - lord, there is a lot of things I am gonna buy!

That is EXACTLY how I would react. I would TOTALLY think there was a terrible mistake, and if I spent one penny of it, Bank of the Universe would send nasty lawyers after me.
Let us know how it goes! The only time I've received an an escrow refund check is when I sold a house.
