Adventures in Urban Chair Painting

I've had a set of 4 Ikea Urban chairs for a few years now and I love them. They are super sturdy and surprisingly comfy.  Sadly after being exposed to the extreme heat & sun of 3 south Florida summers, they were looking a little worse for wear.  So after giving it lots of thought I decided to try and paint the chairs and give them a second life.

I decided to paint two of the chairs gray and the other two a coral color. I had the Rust-Oleum Painters' Touch Winter's Gray on hand and I ran to Ace Hardware and picked up a couple of cans of Krylon Coral Isle.

I painted the first the first two with the Rust-Oleum and. . .

It covered wonderfully and the looked awesome.

Then I started on the other two with the Krylon and. . .

FAIL!

It was bad, so bad that I didn't even bother to finish.  I tried to salvage the job by covering up the coral with the gray, but the finish was totally off. . .

So now I have two awesome gray Urban chairs and, well, that's it. . .
