Guest Post: Decorating with Modern Vases

Hi all! I’m Jennifer and I write for Arcadian Lighting. I've been writing about home decor since graduating from college and loved it ever since. I'm addicted to patterned fabrics, Jonathan Adler, chaise lounges, old doors, milk glass jars, antiques, and more.

While lighting fixtures can add mood to a space, so too can a few contemporary treasures like modern vases. Available in an endless array of materials, shapes and sizes, decorating with modern vases can completely revitalize a tired, drab space.

A variety of white modern vases that resemble beautiful pieces of coral from the bottom of the ocean can be filled with any variety of flowers, from roses to bursts of purple blooms like these.

Classic white furniture looks oh-so-chic, like this dining room set, accessorized with glass vases accented by pink tulips, with a ceiling light like this mod chandelier.

Decorating with modern vases can mean using them as a showpiece on a centred table or as accents tucked into a wall nook. The beaded light fixture is a fantastic finishing touch in this workspace.

Modern vases don't have to be ostentatious - this white bubble vessel with a few budding twigs looks understated and pretty set up in this dinette. The pendant light provides function and form.

If you want to infuse a kitchen with style, mix things up and incorporate both solid and clear coloured vases that overflow with different flora. The light fixtures are also varied, with track spot lights as well as contemporary pendant lighting.

A retro tulip table looks modernized with vases that double as candleholders. Other contemporary vases deck out the adjacent buffet table.

Everyone loves flowers, and visitors will delight in modern vases perched in an entryway, such as this rounded container.

Modern vases don't always have to have flowers - instead fill them with seashells, dried starfish, small pieces of driftwood, or other theme-related items.
