That's right folks, lately I have turned into a lazy bum. I guess once the rush to make the house livable was done I lost my steam. . .
As predicted, I didn't even try to start organizing my closet this past weekend. I did go the the ReStore, and I did go the Nautical Flea Market, and of course I went out with my family for my sister's birthday, heck, I even gave Emmett a bath. . . but I didn't organize, and I didn't work outside. Bad Laurendy, bad girl.
As far as I know I don't have anything "planned" for this weekend, so I should be able to accomplish something. I'm giving myself a less lofty goal - clean off the kitchen counter, I should be able to at least do that.
I am also going to start working on a list of local flea markets and thrift stores. People have to know that south Florida isn't all about the Swap Shop (ewwwwwwww).
Oh, and here for your viewing pleasure, you weekly Emmett shot:

It looks as though I have another very full weekend ahead of me.

- give Emmet a bath (he may be small, but he's a fighter)

Highlight of My Evening
A roadie named Chainsaw doing a cover of "Highway to Hell" while Billy Joel played the guitar. I think my sister got some really bad video of it all - if I can find it, I'll share.

Costco Couches
My mother and I hit Costco this past weekend, but instead of buying meat in bulk I ended up checking out their surprisingly awesome sofa selection.
All under $800!!
Unfortunately while I liked almost every couch they had to offer, none will really work in my space.

Resolution #7 - Make a Plan
When it comes to the house, there are a ton of things I want to do and there are a ton of things that I need to do. But I don't have a real plan for any of them, so I am going to sit down and figure out exactly what needs to be done, and then figure out how to make it happen.

Resolution #5 - read a book
I know it sounds silly, but I can't tell you the last time I sat down and read a book. My problem is that I can not read twenty pages here and twenty pages there, when I read a book I sit down and read the whole thing cover to cover in one sitting (over 600 pages and I might sleep a few hours, and then get up and start again). Since I've graduated college I haven't had time to read this way, so this year I am going to read a book like a normal person, chapter by chapter.

Resolution #4 - put (build??) a brick or paver patio in the back yard
I am going to have one large house related resolution later in the week, but I wanted to keep this one separate. As it is right now I really can't use the backyard, and part of the reason I fell in love with my house was it's large yard, so I figured having a nice little patio out back would make the backyard much more user friendly.

Resolution #3 - Take a class
I'm not sure what type of class, most likely some sort of art class, but I just want to take a class and try something new.

Resolution #2 - Organize. . . EVERYTHING
When I moved into the house I just tried to get everything unpacked, now that I've lived there a while it's time to figure out the best way to organize it all.

Resolution #1 - Be healthier
This includes losing weight, but I don't have a number in mind - just that I want to weigh less than I do now at the end of the year.

New Year, Fresh Start
The wonderful thing about the end of each year is that you have a distinct moment in time in which you can start anew. One moment that gives you a clean slate so to speak - That was last year. This is this year.
While I don't have any real life altering plans for this coming fresh new year (you know, like buying a house) I do have a lot of resolutions (goals) that I want to commit to this year. Over the next week I will be sharing my resolutions with you - if I share them here then I might actually have to keep them.
I also plan on giving the blog a little new years face lift (but that might take more than a week, so bear with me).
