Last Ikea Trip of the Year

I some how managed to talk my mother into heading down to Ikea yesterday even though she hate, hate, hates it as much as I love, love, love it. For my mother's sake I had a plan going in, head straight to the warehouse, aisle 24, bin 2, grab and go - that was the plan. . . What really happened took a bit longer - though for an Ikea trip it was a whirl wind.

I grabbed two more black fleece throws - now that Elsie lives inside the sofa remains covered in them most of the time. The throws didn't really get us off track since they always have a bunch of them just outside the entrance to the Marketplace. . . what got us off track was this -
I spotted it first, but was using every bit of will power I have not to head into dishware section, but then my mom uttered "did you see the bird platter" and every ounce of will power I had was gone - and we ended up going through the entire Marketplace and I also ended up with two lamp bases and two sets of glasses, oh, and of course I stopped at aisle 24, bin 2 on the way out to pick up this -

Yep, that's the smaller Lack coffee table in walnut - now I know what you're saying to yourself, "but Laurendy you just bought that beautiful gray storage ottoman to use in place of a coffee table, why did you buy that?" Well my friend, I will be using this lovely Lack coffee table as a tv stand for my new flat panel television, which is still living in my mother's closet by the way. . .

And there you have it, my last trip to Ikea for 2009.

Good scores! Can't go wrong with a Lack.

I'll probably head to Ikea tomorrow for some sales. It's so dangerous working just minutes away from our Ikea!!

if I kea was only a few minutes away I think I might live there, as it is now it's about an hour drive and I find myself there too often

It's a study in self control. I find myself there at least once a week for lunch ($1.99 pasta meal!).
