Halloween Decorations

Holy cow, October is almost halfway over and Halloween is right around the corner and I haven't even started decorating yet. I did get my Halloween decoration out of storage, but it's just sitting in boxes in my "great room". My mother on the other hand has had her house decorated for weeks now.

When my sister and I were younger my mother would go all out with the scary when it came to Halloween decorating - life sized monsters, motion activated screaming figurines, bloody limbs scattered about, and spiderwebs everywhere.

Now that we've gotten older my mother's Halloween decor as become more refined and subtle.

I love these more"grown up" Halloween decorations. The giant blown glass pumpkin is from Target (it's a few year old now) and the candle stick was just a $2 thrift store find that was sprayed with a matte black spray paint. Together they make the perfect center piece for a dining room table.

with just a few days left til Halloween, i can't find any track of Halloween deco around my house -- in fact haven't decorated house for Halloween ever since I moved to New York. And that IS SAD.. but NYC's Halloween parade is still fun to be part of, so I'll count on that - again. What's ur plans for halloween
