Processing or Identity Theft?

I don't know if this is normal or not (I've never bought a house before), but it seems kinda strange. . .

I understand checking my credit (flawless, by the way), and I understand verifying my employment (though did they really have to do it 3 times?), but why do they want a copy of my college diplomas?

It's additional verification. Since the industry was so sloppy (moderate term) about it for the past 15 years, they are trying to make amends by overcompensation. Education is also and indicator of compensation.

Thanks for the info, though in my case education is not an indicator of compensation. I not using either of my diplomas at the moment, but they do look nice on my wall.

That's crazyness! I'm glad we got in under the wire with our mortgage, before they got all "responsible". I can't imagine our struggles with the selling bank being drawn out even longer.

I guess i was lucky in the fact that my mother had them hanging on the wall. I laided them on the scanner mattes and all and sent them on their merry little way
