I am not quite happy with my current "great room" set up. I've been looking at couches, rugs, I've even bought a new side table - but there are much more important things on my to do list, so right now I'm stuck just window shopping (or in most cases - monitor shopping).
So for today's Virtual Shopping experience we're looking for some throw pillows. Throw pillows are the simplest way to give an oh so boring couch a face lift and there are tons and tons and tons of options out there!

The Table is Mine
Okay, so this post is very very very late in coming. . .
I had been eyeing this majorly awesome side table at Target since they put out their "Home Design Event" things at the beginning of the year:
I had been telling everyone that would listen about this table that I just had to have as soon as it went down to %50 off. I posted pictures I had taken in the store with my camera phone to my Flickr account. I had to have this table.
I knew that Target marked down their clearance on Tuesdays and Saturdays (I'm not sure if this is true for all Targets, or just mine) so twice a week I would beg my mom to stop on her way to work and see if the price had dropped yet. Finally, one Tuesday morning (3 weeks ago) I got the call:
The table in the picture was already gone when my mom got there, so I got the one next to it (hence the arrow). Thank goodness for my mom, right after she grabbed it some lady came rushing into the "Home Design Event" section looking for it. My mother said the too-late-lady kept eyeing her cart as she shopped. Mom was afraid she was going to get jumped on the way to her car.

Mom - You owe me $60
Me - Does that mean I got the table?
Mom - It's in my car as we speak.
Me - I'm doing the "I've got a table" happy dance
Mom - Are people giving you strange looks?
Me - Yep. . .

Coraline
Have you seen Coraline yet? No?! Well, what are you waiting for?
My mom, sister, and I went to see it this past weekend. Rarely do we brave the crowds for a movie on opening weekend, but Coraline proved to be worth it. For those of you who haven't seen it, or don't know the story - I won't give anything away, but I will tell you that I left the theatre with the urge to make a rag doll and play with buttons.
If for nothing else you have to see the movie just for it's handmade sets alone. Oh, and go check out the Coraline website and make your scary button eyed picture.
P.S. Do not take young children to see this movie - I saw at least two 4 years olds in tears and a 6 year old had to comforted in the lobby. . . even my 17 year old sister had some whacked out dreams, but that might be due to the fact that my mom stuck a pair of buttons (eyes) on a crawl space door right next to her bedroom.

Laurendy vs. Pot of Hot Water
Pot of Hot Water - 1
Laurendy - 0 (well 2 if you count the blisters on my stomach)
Yes I am a klutz - I was making hot chocolate and I was trying to reach something I was too short to reach, and I ended up with almost boiling water on my stomach. Luckily I only ended up with two large blisters on my stomach that are more annoying than painful. Thank goodness Emmett wasn't at my feet (where he normally is if I'm in the kitchen).
Maybe this is a sign that I should stick to take-out. . .

I'm Hooked
Okay, so I didn't get the counter completely cleaned off (you got a problem with that? - I didn't think so).
But I did manage to "install" some hooks into the mango tree in my back yard so that I can hang up the bird feeder my dad got me for Christmas and the poor little orchid I stole from work about 4 months ago and got hung in a branch in the tree too high for me to reach and thus forgotten about (man that was a mouthful).

Please forgive my pictures as of late, I have to replace the battery in my camera,
so I've been using my cell phone camera for the past month or so.
Added bonus - I can take the bird feeder down and hook up Emmett's leash so that he can stay in the yard while I'm putzing around.

*I just noticed that I am almost at my 200th post - to celebrate I think I will do my first ever give away - so stay tuned*
