BC Cafe

My favorite food truck has gone brick and mortar and today is the official grand opening of BC Cafe the swanky not-on-wheels brother of BC Tacos!

 

Kelly and I were lucky enough to be able to attend the friends and family night and get a little sneak preview of the menu. Of course the menu included some the trucks famous tacos but it also included burgers, salads, sliders and more.

 

I had the mushroom swiss burger, and when you first get it you're looking at it you're like hey where's my mushroom and swiss? but then you take a bite and you find it all stuffed inside the patty - it was so good! Kelly stuck with her taco favorites but did venture out by ordering one of the pulled pork sliders - that thing may be small but it packs a punch!

 

So if you are ever out in west Broward and looking for a bite to eat, hit up BC Cafe located at 4801 S. University Drive in Davie.

 

Oh, and all you BC Tacos lovers out there, don't worry, the truck will still be bringing you the best tacos around!

Bringing the Outdoors In?

I was in Target last Sunday snatching up some 90% off Easter goodies when I spotted this rug in the patio section.  My first thought was "hey, that might work in my living room". 

 

In person it is pretty thick and didn't seem as bright as it does not staring back at me on my laptop screen.  You can't beat the price ($49 on sale this week) for a 5' by 8' rug.  For an outdoor rug it was surprisingly soft. . . but now I'm second guessing the colors. . .

 

Do I love? I thought I did, now. . .  I have commitment issues.

Sometimes I forget how pretty of a cat Elsie is, even with all her scars (you can sorta notice her permanently split lip in the photo above). . .

 

And Mr. Emmett has become such a pillow hog, he pushes them all to one side of the sofa and then stands guard atop them against any possible Elsie attacks.

My pink front door is starting to fade, so I am looking for a little inspiration. . . as you can tell from the images above, I still plan on a shade of pink.  I really dig the hot pink of door 7.  What do you think?

Living Room Reveal (Sorta)

 

So the rag rug I had down in the living room didn't make the cut, I'm still searching for the perfect replacement. . . or at least a suitable temporary option.  Also the curtains still need up grading, I wouldn't mind the curtains ones if they were longer.

 

I finally broke out the throw pillow stash. . . I went from no pillows to holy-cow-you-have-a-lot-of pillows in one afternoon.

 

 

I put my favorite pillow in my favorite chair.

 

 

I finally hung some pictures up above the tv. . . I was going to put my Z Gallerie deer head up there, but it seemed out of scale, so I buckled and slapped some art up instead.  I hope it doesn't seem too busy.  I placed them a bit high because the tv will most likely be mounted on the wall at some point.

And here is a little sneak peek of the "reading corner".  The chair is temporary, I have a pouf to add, I want to find a rug and I need to photograph it when I have better light.

 

So that's my living room (minus baseboards & actual flooring).
